Enhanced Biomolecule Separations Using New ICS-3000 Ion Chromatography Modules with All-PEEK Flow Paths

October 2006, Sunnyvale, CA—Dionex Corporation is pleased to announce the release of two new detector modules, a TC thermostatted column oven, and an all-PEEK flow path option for the ICS-3000 product line. These options make the ICS-3000 an excellent chromatography system for analyzing biomolecules such as monoclonal antibodies.

With industry-leading expertise in PEEK systems, Dionex is uniquely qualified to offer a 100% metal-free flow path, from the autosampler needle through the pump and detector. With this option, the ICS-3000 overcomes pH and high salt limitations of traditional stainless steel or titanium chromatography systems. By eliminating the possibility of metal-induced deactivation of biomolecules, the metal-free ICS-3000 prevents system corrosion using mobile phases at pH 0–14 and high molarity salt buffers. This PEEK system allows users the freedom to choose the best buffers required for their separations with confidence. The system will not affect the sample or the separation in sensitive applications such as Monoclonal Antibody analysis. When the ICS-3000 TC (5–85 °C) is combined with one of the highly sensitive optical detectors — the VWD (190–900 nm), PDA (190–800 nm, with full 3-D scanning capabilities), or MSQ Plus mass spectrometric detector — the result is optimal, trouble-free analysis of biomolecules. All new modules are easily qualified, using the automated Dionex Operational Qualification version 5.11.
