2008 Chromeleon User Meeting: Computer Workshops

Pre-Meeting Workshops

These workshops will be offered on Wednesday, October 8. Cost to attend is $150.00 per workshop.

Computer Workshop 1: Customizing the Chromeleon User Interface

Several new features have been introduced into Chromeleon panels in recent releases. These allow creation of general templates that automatically adapt to specific instrument setups. In addition, you can customize the design to meet typical instrument control workflows, including the creation of customized "wizards." This workshop will:
  • Give you a greater understanding of panel technology
  • Allow you to create auto-adapting generic panels
  • Allow you to create workflow oriented panels

These skills will help you design panels that will shorten training times, and reduce panel update/maintenance times.

Computer Workshop 2: Automated System Suitability Testing

The System Suitability tool allows you to configure Chromeleon to automatically evaluate data and results. This workshop will provide details on the recent advances in Chromeleon technology and show you how to:

  • Automatically evaluate system suitability test results
  • Check your analytical results against specifications
  • Assess method development injections for suitable chromatography

These skills will automate a significant part of data assessment in your laboratory and will ultimately allow you to increase productivity.

Computer Workshop 3: Advanced Reporting and Queries

The Chromeleon Reporting and Query tools allow you to combine and visualize data in a nearly unlimited number of ways. This workshop will take you through practical examples and show you how to:

  • Create quality control charts for any time period
  • Trend stability results
  • Calculate instrument utilization figures for your laboratory
  • Visualize results from method scouting to quickly locate the method with the best chromatographic performance

These skills will allow you to monitor and assess with ease the data that your laboratory produces, and let you quickly work out how to make improvements to your current processes.

Computer Workshop 4: Avanced Quantification Techniques

The Quantification Method (QNT) file is loaded with options that support practically any standard chromatographic processing and quantification method. Further, the QNT has a variety of powerful tools that may help solve common processing problems. This workshop will show you how to use Chromeleon tools for these different quantitative approaches and show you how to:

  • Understand calibration methods, modes, and fit functions
  • Use Chromeleon to automatically calculate the result for your method
  • Use advanced QNT tools to solve common processing problems

These skills will help eliminate the need to calculate results manually or with a third party application such as MS Excel, and allow you to see results as soon as your chromatograms are integrated.
