ICS-1500 Standard Integrated IC System

The easy-to-use ICS-1500 system provides excellent performance with isocratic IC methods. With dual-piston pumping, electrolytic suppression, and column heater all standard, this compact, integrated instrument offers outstanding sensitivity and stability. The vacuum degas option delivers even quieter baselines for trace-level work. Operate in manual or automated mode using a convenient touch-screen status panel or Chromeleon® software. For traditional IC applications, the ICS-1500 is a great choice.

Inject Sample and Collect Data

The ICS-1500 comes equipped with a new touch-pad controller. This front-panel controller allows the user to control and monitor the system status continuously. The home screen provides one-screen operation with a single touch. Navigation is as easy as touching a button. The informative status screen provides customized status settings that the user can choose from. The large font provides a viewing capability from a distance. The ICS-1500 user interface includes a plot screen that plots the baseline in real time with autoscale functionality. This tool is excellent when monitoring the baseline.

The ICS-1500 system can be controlled and operated using Chromeleon software. Chromeleon combines the ideal blend of powerful data analysis capabilities with a logical, user-friendly interface. Only Chromeleon offers IC features that adapt to IC separations and integration parameters that provide consistent results with changing concentrations. Audit trails log the details of instrument use to provide a snapshot of the system's running conditions. All manipulations are recorded and kept in a history file, making troubleshooting simple and GLP compliance more achievable. Storage of results in the secure, integral database allows you to find your data by any parameter using query functions. System Wellness provides on-line calibration and diagnostics to ensure optimum performance. Customizable reporting structure for optimized data and results presentation. Application templates provide a method download that includes all the system parameters and component names with retention times based on your column selection.

Get Sample Analysis Right on the First Run

The ICS-1500 can be fully automated with an autosampler that delivers samples every run consistently without user attention. The AS40 and AS50 autosamplers provide flexibility in sample delivery and sample preparation alternatives. Simply fill the samples, enter the description, and press start to begin your daily routine.

Column Heating Ensures Better Reproducibility and Selectivity

The ICS-1500 comes with a column heater that can maintain stable column temperatures above ambient. This capability provides stable instrument conditions for consistent separation results. Ambient environments fluctuate in temperature and can be minimized to not affect the IC system by heating the column above ambient. The column heater provides day-to-day consistency with excellent reproducibility and stability. This column heater design has a built-in precolumn heat exchanger. Preheating the eluent prior to the column ensures that the eluent is at the set temperature, optimizing column separations and maximizing the column performance. A convenient transparent cover allows viewing of the column without temperature disruption. The column heater can be set and monitored with Chromeleon software or the touch-pad controller for easy operation and control.

Durable PEEK Materials Remain Contamination-Free and Resist Toughest Acidic and Basic Eluents

Dionex has produced complete polymeric systems constructed of PEEK materials for over 25 years. Metal-free materials prevent the acid and base mobile phases traditionally used in IC analysis from contaminating and corroding the system. PEEK provides a chemically inert pump and system flow path compatible with aqueous eluents of pH 0–14.  Maintaining your system is simplified with materials that do not promote problems in the system. You can expect lower maintenance cost with the use of factory-equipped piston seal wash. This standard feature protects the dual-piston pumping system between routine maintenance cycles by rinsing the pistons and rear seals continuously with DI water. The PEEK tubing used to plumb the system is easy to use and cut for fast replacement or plumbing flexibility. The ICS-1500 systems are preplumbed and configured, ready for the dedicated isocratic anion or cation analysis.

Designed with Integrated Features for the Most Demanding Sample Requirements

For improved reproducibility, the heated and thermostated high-performance conductivity detection cell permits measurements that are unaffected by temperature variation. An advanced single-range digital output conductivity detector with an operating range to 3200 µS full-scale provides a broad range for ion analysis. Alternate mode permits single-range analog signal output. Optional built-in vacuum degas provides in-line degassing of eluents, ensuring reproducibility and protection of eluents from contamination and decomposition. Control of the degas operation can be automated to sense when degassing is required.

Increase Your Lab's Productivity with Electrolytic Suppression

AutoSuppression® with electrolytic suppression eliminates the need to hand-prepare acid or base regenerants. Eliminating this preparation step increases the time to run samples and provides a consistent set of conditions without errors. Electrolytic suppression reduces background conductivity and provides high signal-to-noise ratios. Electrolytic suppression technology lowers noise and provides higher sensitivity, resulting in lower detection limits. The Atlas Electrolytic Suppressors offers improved performance with lower baseline noise and faster start-up. Due to the improved baseline noise, method detection limits can be decreased as much as threefold using the Atlas® Electrolytic Suppressor. The SRS® ULTRA delivers low backgrounds and noise levels for the full range of Dionex® ion-exchange columns and eluents.

SRS 300
