The Acclaim Surfactant and Acclaim Mixed-Mode HILIC-1 columns both offer unique capabilities for analysis of surfactants, but differ in their balances of hydrophilic and lipophilic function. In this example the two molecules differ only by one CH₂ unit in their hydrophobes. The Acclaim Mixed-Mode HILIC-1 column condenses the overlapping envelopes into two well-resolved peaks, thus offering better quantification and detection limits. The Surfactant column shows a more complex profile that contains information about the distribution of ethoxylates.
