Vitamins D2 (cholecalciferol) and D3 (ergocalciferol) are two forms of an essential vitamin. They are used in fortified milk, dietary supplements, and various other foods. The Acclaim WAX-1 column, operated in HILIC mode, separates these closely related substances by a different mechanism than reversed-phase columns, and may be useful as a complementary column.
