The Acclaim Mixed-Mode WAX-1 column combines both hydrophobic and anion-exchange characteristics, which facilitates selectivity adjustment by changing the ionic strength, pH, or organic solvent content of the mobile phase, either independently or concurrently. Changing the organic solvent content affects retention of neutral molecules more strongly and in the opposite direction of anions.
