The UV-absorbing active ingredients in sunscreen lotion can be extracted from the oil base by Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE^®). ASE uses heat and pressure in a closed cell to quickly and automatically extract samples using a minimum of solvent. The Acclaim 120 C18 column is efficient and rugged and makes a good choice for the LC determination.
