The OmniPac® PCX-100 column is a microporous, solvent-compatible, high-capacity, cation-exchange column designed for the separation of
hydrophobic cations, such as amines, drugs, and metabolites.
-
Acid, base, and solvent compatible, pH 0–14
-
Good for organic cations
-
Ideal for the separation of very hydrophobic cations
-
Good for the separation of halogenated cations
The OmniPac PCX-100 column is a specialty cation-exchange column for the separation of low-molecular-weight cations, especially
organic analytes. Group 1A and 2A inorganic cations are best separated on the IonPac CS12A column, which is also solvent compatible. The
OmniPac PCX-100 column is 100% solvent compatible and should always be run with at least 1% organic solvent in the mobile
phase.
The OmniPac PCX-100 is manufactured using a microporous substrate agglomerated with a sulfonated latex bead layer that carries
the cation-exchange functionality. The cation-exchange layer is the same as that used in the OmniPac PCX-500 column, and consequently
the ion-exchange characteristics of these two columns are identical. The OmniPac PCX-100 column can be used to separate hydrophobic
cationic analytes such as amines, anilines, antidepressants, drugs, and metabolites (such as methotrexate and folic acid).
