Acclaim Explosives Columns — A Total Solution for EPA Method 8330

At last; the answer to EPA Method 8330. The Acclaim Explosives columns are the solution to analyzing the 14 explosives targeted by EPA Method 8330. Both columns provide baseline resolution of all 14 explosives, with selectivity complementary to one another, thus the use of both columns will ensure accurate peak identification.

  • Two columns, each offering baseline resolution of all 14 compounds targeted by EPA Method 8330
  • Two columns with selectivity that is complementary to one another
  • Simple isocratic elution conditions
  • Rugged columns with good lot-to-lot reproducibility

The Acclaim Explosives E1 and E2 columns are silica-based reversed phase columns that have been specifically designed to resolve all 14 explosives listed in EPA SW-846 Method 8330 “Nitroaromatics and Nitramines by HPLC”. Their novel and unique column chemistries allow for superior resolution with selectivities complementary to one another as shown in the chromatograms on this web page. The Acclaim explosives E1 is recommended for use as a direct replacement for ODS columns for the primary analysis and the Acclaim explosives E2 may be used as a confirmatory column.

The Acclaim Explosives E1 column is the solution to the long-lasting difficulty surrounding explosives analysis and provides chromatographers with an effective, simple and direct replacement for conventional ODS columns. Operation of the both Acclaim Explosives columns is simple and straightforward and requires only isocratic elution for baseline resolution of all 14 target explosives. While both columns perform reproducibly under their optimized conditions, separation conditions for the Acclaim Explosives E2 can be readily changed to accommodate inclusion of additional explosives compounds.

The Acclaim Explosives stationary phases are based on 5-µm ultra-high purity spherical silica gel particles, with 120A pore size. The unique chemistry of these columns offers exceptional selectivity and stability over the range of pH 3.0 to 7.0, and their design ensures good column life and easy cleanup. The entire manufacturing process is carefully controlled to ensure that every Dionex Acclaim Explosives column, whether it is an E1 or an E2, delivers reproducible performance. Acclaim Explosives columns are tested for baseline resolution of all 14 explosives and individually tested to ensure column-to-column and lot-to-lot reproducibility.
