Acclaim PepMap is a silica-based C18 stationary phase with virtually zero silanophilic activity, resulting in superior separation of peptides with minimal band broadening. Consequently, the need for TFA in peptide mapping is no longer required, allowing the use of solvent additives, such as formic acid, with substantially lower signal suppression and higher sensitivity in mass spectrometry (MS). Nano LC, often combined with on-line mass spectrometry (MS), is the cutting-edge of microseparation techniques. Using LC Nanocolumns easily improves the mass sensitivity by a factor of up to 5000, when compared to 4.6-mm i.d. columns with conventional flow rates. Applications have proven that hyphenated techniques such as nano LC-ESI/MS gives higher detection levels as direct injection to nanospray MS. Higher detection is due to lower chemical noise and sample concentration, which lead to a better signal-to-noise ratio. Acclaim PepMap Capillary Columns, 300-µm i.d. These Capillary Columns with a 300-µm i.d. have become standard in capillary LC. Efficiencies of 100,000 plates/m for standard packings and excellent peak symmetry are achieved routinely. The universal 1/16-in. finger-tight fittings guarantee ease of use, and allow direct connection of the column to the injection valve or Microguard column. The standard stationary phase is C18 reversed-phase spherical particles with a particle size of 3 µm for 5- and 15-cm columns, and 5 µm for 25-cm columns.
