Complex sample matrices such as chemical wastewater effluents and fermentation broth solutions contain a variety of inorganic
anions and organic acids. The IonPac® AS11-HC was specifically designed to resolve a large number of inorganic anions and organic acid anions in a single run using
a hydroxide gradient.
-
Use the high-capacity AS11-HC column for organic acids and inorganic anions in complex sample matrices or uncharacterized
samples.
-
The AS11-HC column is recommended for monovalent and divalent organic acids.
-
Use the low-capacity AS11 column for the fast analysis of organic acids and inorganic anions in well-characterized samples.
-
Use the ICE-AS1 or ICE-AS6 ion-exclusion columns for organic acid analysis in high-ionic-strength samples.
-
Simplified Reagent-FreeTM IC operation is provided by the EG40 or EG50 Eluent Generator, or the RFC-30 Controller, which requires only a deionized
water source to produce potassium hydroxide eluent.
The IonPac AS11-HC is a high-capacity, hydroxide-selective, anion-exchange column with selectivity similar to the AS11 column.
The AS11-HC is designed to resolve a large number of inorganic anions and organic acid anions in complex matrices including
foods, beverages, fermentation solutions, chemical additives, wastewater, brines, and power plant waters. The high-capacity
AS11-HC column allows the injection of more concentrated samples without overloading or peak broadening. The AS11-HC provides
improved separation over the AS11 column for monovalent carboxylic acids, including quinate, lactate, acetate, propionate,
formate, and butyrate. A wide range of organic acids and inorganic anions can be determined in approximately 40 min using
a 1.0–60 mM hydroxide gradient at a controlled temperature of 30 ºC coupled with suppressed conductivity detection. The AS11–HC
is recommended for Reagent-Free technology using the EG40 or EG50 Eluent Generators, or the RFC-30 Controller. Use the Anion
Self-Regenerating Suppressor (ASRS® ULTRA) with the AS11-HC column.
